The Art of Alyssa

Alyssa has been a character of mine for the past 4-5 years.

Originally she was supposed to be just a friend of Gabe's, but I turned it into an engagement between the two.

It seemed more fitting, and I had to counter that side of Gabe that's pure insanity.

One comment I get often is "Your artwork makes me smile" or "Your art makes me happy."
I've never really thought about that until today.

Lately I've been trying to figure out ways that I could "push the envelope" art-wise, and try to do more risque-type pieces.
But then I asked myself why I would even want to do that, and what would it accomplish.
All I ever wanted to do with my work is to make people smile, or make people laugh.
It never clicked in my head that I was doing that this whole time.
I assumed their was some etherial passage that I had to go through and then I'd be flooded with that knowledge.
I'm not trying to say that my art is something so grand or anything like that. I'm just trying to understand what my work is saying to people.

Can others see something there that I don't? Of course. Everyone is going to percieve each piece differently.

I'm not upset or anything like that, it's just one of the things that my brain will try to figure out from time to time.

Anyway.
For some reason I felt I had to type this out and show it. I dunno.

Thank you everyone who supports my work, and who continue to fav and watch and put up with me and my work. It means the world to me.

It's because of the animation and art style.

It just bugs the shit out of me. I can never get over it.
